Clinical Indication of SP10 (Xue Hai)

1. Name: Sea of Blood

2. Location: 2 cun above the medial and superior border of the patella when the knee is flexed, on the bulge of the medial portion of the quadriceps femoris muscle

3. Point with "Sea" in name: Can be used for HT-KD disharmony and HT, KD, Brain disorders

4. Abdomen: When lower abdomen is weak, this point strengthen the rectus abdominis muscle

5. Good for Uterine bleeding: combined with DU4, GB34, UB17
   a) Uterine bleeding due to sudden emotional upset
   b) Uterine bleeding due to Qi rise up and deficiency below
   c) Needling direction: toward to genital
   b) it can stop bleeding, or it also can promote bleeding if there is left-out blood inside

6. Needling: Needle when knee is straight. (For LV8 and KD10, knee should be flexed)

7. Used for gynecological disease: leukorrhea, uterine bleeding, postpartum bleeding, irregular mensturation

8. Used for Cold feeling of knee: Moxa SP10, ST33 (SP10 is better)

9. When Knee can't be bended: Use ST34, SP10, Heding (In the depression at the midpoint of the superior patellar border)

10. STOP BLEEING POINTS (clinical)
   a) DU4: stop bleeding
   b) SP10, UB17(toward to SP10): promote bleeding to move blood stasis out
   c) GB34: stop bleeding by contracting muscle
