Clinical indication from SJ2 (Ye Men)

1. Name
Chinese character "Ye" can be break down into two meaning.  First one means "water", second one means "night".  So, the literal translation is "night water".  However, "night" actually means "dark" or "yin" here.  Thus, better translation is "Yin (part of) water", i.e., blood, lymph, humor.  Second character "Men" means door.  The full translation, "Humor Gate" or "Fluid Door" implies that SJ2 can be used for fluid, blood, and lymph circulation.

2. Fluid
SJ2 can be used for blood circulation disorder, perspiration on armpit and groin,  Fluid  in ear, Tearing, and even for stool and urination disorders.

3. Disorders of lymph node
For disorders of lymph node (ie, enlarged lymph nodes, lymphadenitis, tumors, etc), need SJ2 to SJ3.

4. Headache
It's good for temporal headache.  If Left side temporal headache, tonify right SJ2.  If Right side pain, tonify left SJ2.  SJ2 is "water" point.  In general, "Water" point of same side of pain should be sedated and opposite side should be tonified.

5. Hand shaking (tremor)
SJ2 can be used for symptomatic relief of hand shaking.  Common causes of hand shaking is essential tremor, parkinson's disease, thyroid disorders, drug side effects, and heavy metal poisoning.

6. Needling pain
When a patient have pain from the needling on other channels, SJ2 can relieve that pain.  In this case, SJ2 should be stimulated to give more pain than the pain site.

7. Shoulder pain
If SI3 is the primary point for shoulder pain, SJ2 can be the supporting point for shoulder pain.
